At Military Hazards, our mission is to answer two questions for veterans and their families: 1) what toxic substances were veterans likely exposed to based on their job and locations served? and 2) what can veterans do about their toxic exposure?

Military Hazards is a website for veterans and their families to find information about toxic exposure during their military service. Our site began when we started looking for real information about the toxic water at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Red Hill, Hawaii. We found that many service members and their families may have consumed contaminated drinking water at and near bases. We wanted to know how extensive this contamination was and how we could share that information with troops and their loved ones.

When we created this site, there wasn’t a centralized place for veterans to get good information about toxic exposure and what service members could do if they were exposed and were eventually sickened. So we created that centralized place. The site was launched on June 15, 2023, to be the best place for information for veterans and their families about toxic exposure in the military.
